A family was closing the chapter on their beloved Austin home and beginning a new one in Memphis. This painting was made to go with them — a reminder of the home they poured themselves into, right down to the vines that crept slowly and beautifully across the front over the years.
Those vines were my favorite thing to paint. You could feel the seasons in them.
